## How the service works

1. The customer sends photographs and an approximate quantity by WhatsApp or calls.
2. ScrapVanta replies with an indicative rate per kilo or per unit, usually within the hour.
3. For larger or mixed lots, a free site survey is carried out before a firm quote.
4. Material is sorted by grade and weighed at the customer's premises, in their presence,
   on a calibrated platform scale. Truck loads are weighed over a public weighbridge.
5. A written, item-wise weighment slip is issued before loading begins.
6. Payment is made before the vehicle leaves. GST invoice and gate pass follow on request.

Quoted rates are held for 48 hours once the material has been seen.

## Rates

Rates are indicative and move with metal markets. Non-ferrous metals (copper, brass,
aluminium) follow LME and change daily. Iron and steel follow domestic mill demand and
change weekly. Current published ranges:

- Copper: Rs 610-715/kg by grade (bright wire highest, armature copper lowest)
- Brass: Rs 280-455/kg by grade
- Aluminium: Rs 95-190/kg by grade
- Iron and steel: Rs 22-37/kg; stainless steel 304 Rs 108-132/kg
- Cable and wire: Rs 95-430/kg, priced on recovered copper content
- Lead-acid batteries: Rs 84-96/kg
- Air conditioners: Rs 1,800-4,200 per unit by type
- E-waste: Rs 18-480/kg or per unit by item type
- Plastic: Rs 12-48/kg by polymer and colour

## Compliance position

- E-waste is routed to recyclers authorised under India's E-Waste (Management) Rules,
  with a handover record supplied to the waste generator.
- Used lead-acid batteries are handled through the registered channel required by the
  Battery Waste Management Rules.
- Data-bearing IT equipment is wiped to a recognised overwrite standard or physically
  shredded, with a certificate issued listing serial numbers.
- Used transformer and engine oil is drained, contained and routed to licensed handlers.
- ScrapVanta does not burn cable insulation, which is illegal, harmful and reduces
  the grade of the recovered copper.
- Not collected: biomedical or clinical waste, radioactive material, undeclared chemical
  containers, ordnance, and inert construction debris (malba).
