Plastic is the scrap people most often throw away, because on its own it seems not worth the trouble. Hard plastics — buckets, tubs, chairs, crates, drums — are all recyclable and have value when they are kept out of the dustbin.
We collect plastic along with the rest of your household or shop scrap, keep hard plastics apart from thin film and bags, and route it to plastic recyclers.

What we cannot take
Thermocol, multilayer food wrappers and dirty plastic bags have very little recycling value. If they are mixed in, we will ask to leave them out.
Rinse oil and chemical cans if possible. Clean plastic is easier to recycle and quicker to weigh.
Questions people ask
Do you buy broken plastic chairs?
Yes. Broken plastic chairs, tables and stools are hard plastic and are collected for recycling.
Do you take plastic bags and wrappers?
Clean plastic sheets in bulk, yes. Mixed household wrappers and thermocol are generally not recyclable, so we may ask to leave them out.
Can shops sell plastic crates and drums?
Yes, in any quantity. Ask about a regular pickup schedule.
Is plastic weighed separately?
Yes — plastic is weighed on its own, apart from paper and metal.
