Why we write these

Almost every complaint about scrap dealers comes from an information gap: the buyer knows what grade your material is and roughly what it is worth, and you do not. These guides close that gap.

Some of what is here makes our own negotiations harder. That is fine. A seller who understands grading is a seller who does not have to take anyone's word for it, and that is a better customer to have than one who was simply not paying attention.
