Copper carries more value per kilo than anything else in an ordinary scrap load, which is exactly why it is the material most often underpaid. A dealer who quotes one blended rate for a drum of mixed copper is quietly buying your bright wire at armature prices.

Copper Scrap rates by grade
These are working ranges for the Delhi NCR market. Grade decides the number far more than quantity does, so the first thing we do on site is sort and identify.

Where most of our copper comes from
Electrical contractors after a rewiring job, motor rewinding shops clearing burnt windings, plumbing contractors after a pipe replacement, and factories retiring old transformers or panel busbars. Households contribute the utensil grade — old vessels that have been sitting unused for years and are usually worth far more than people expect.
A note on burnt cable
Burning insulation off cable is illegal, dangerous and it damages the copper — the surface oxidises and drops a grade, so you lose more than you save. Bring us the cable whole. We strip it mechanically and pay you on the recovered copper weight, which nearly always beats what burnt wire fetches.
How to sell your copper scrap
- Send photos. WhatsApp a couple of clear pictures with a rough quantity to +91 79831 29840. Photographs settle grading questions faster than any description.
- Get an indicative rate. We reply with a range, usually within the hour during working times.
- Book the pickup. Our team reaches you with the scale, tools and vehicle. Larger lots get a free survey first.
- Watch the weighing. Every grade is weighed separately and written on a slip you keep.
- Take payment. Cash, UPI or bank transfer settles before loading. Invoice and gate pass follow on request.
Copper Scrap — common questions
What is today's copper scrap rate in Delhi?
It moves daily with LME copper and the local Delhi market. As a working range, bright wire sits around ₹665–715 per kg, No. 1 heavy copper around ₹640–685, and armature copper considerably lower because the copper still has to be extracted. Call or WhatsApp for the exact figure on the day you plan to sell — we lock a quoted rate for 48 hours once we have seen the material.
How do you check whether copper is bright grade or No. 2?
By eye and by a file test. Bright grade must be uncoated, unalloyed, above 1.6 mm and free of tin, solder or paint. If a wire has a silvery tinned surface it drops to No. 2 regardless of how clean it looks. We show you the test on your own material so the grading is not a matter of opinion.
Will you strip insulated cable, or do I have to?
We do it. Bring the cable as it is. For armoured and heavy cable we strip mechanically at our Jaitpur yard and pay on recovered copper, which is why we quote cable per kilo of cable rather than per kilo of copper. For large quantities you are welcome to watch the stripping.
Do you buy copper from motor armatures without dismantling?
Yes. Whole armatures and stators are bought at the armature rate, which accounts for the iron and the labour of extraction. If you dismantle them yourself and give us clean winding copper, you get the winding rate instead — a meaningful jump if you have the manpower.
