Industrial dismantling is sequencing and risk control before it is anything else. Steel comes down in an order that keeps the remaining structure stable, hot work happens away from anything flammable, and services are proven dead before a cutter is lit.
We take on shed and structure removal, plant room stripping, process line decommissioning and mezzanine removal across the NCR industrial belt, working against a scrap buy-back that reduces or eliminates the net cost to you.
What the scope covers
- Structural steel
- Sheds, portal frames, mezzanines, gantries, walkways and platforms cut down in a planned sequence.
- Process lines
- Conveyors, tanks, vessels, ducting, piping and complete production lines decommissioned and removed.
- Plant rooms
- Boiler houses, compressor rooms, chiller plants and pump rooms stripped including services.
- Roofing & cladding
- Sheet roofing, purlins, cladding and insulation removed with edge protection in place.
- Civil breaking
- Foundations, plinths and machine bases broken out where the scope requires it.
- Site clearance
- Debris removed and the area handed back level and clear for the next use.
How the job runs
Survey & risk assessment
Structural condition, asbestos check where the building's age warrants it, services mapping, access and crane positions. We will not quote a structure we have not walked.
Method statement & permits
Written sequence, lifting plan, hot work permits and isolation certificates agreed with your safety officer before the first day.
Controlled dismantling
Section by section in the agreed order, with a supervisor on site throughout and daily coordination if the plant is still running.
Clearance & reconciliation
Material weighed over a public weighbridge, buy-back reconciled against the removal cost, and the documentation set handed over.
How it is priced
We quote two numbers and keep them separate: what the removal costs, and what the recovered material is worth. Blending them into one figure hides which side of the trade you are on. Where the material value exceeds the removal cost you receive a net payment; where it does not, you pay the difference and nothing more.
Nothing is added afterwards for labour, transport or disposal. If the survey missed something genuinely unforeseen we come back to you before doing the work, not after.
Questions we get asked
Do you carry insurance for this kind of work?
Yes — public liability and workmen's compensation, and we provide the certificates before mobilisation. Any contractor who cannot produce those documents before starting a dismantling job should not be on your site.
Can you work while the rest of our plant runs?
Routinely. It requires more planning — exclusion zones, agreed isolation points, hot work permits, coordination with your shift supervisor — but running plants are most of what we work in. The alternative, shutting a line down for a removal, is usually far more expensive for you.
How is the price arrived at?
Two figures, quoted separately: the cost of removal, and the value of the recovered material. On steel-heavy structures the material value often exceeds the removal cost and you receive a net payment. On light structures with little metal it goes the other way. The survey tells us which, and we show you both numbers rather than one blended one.
What about asbestos sheeting?
Older sheds in the NCR belt frequently have asbestos cement roofing. We do not remove it ourselves — it requires a specialist licensed contractor. We will identify it at survey, tell you plainly, and sequence our work around a specialist's removal.
Do you handle the disposal paperwork?
Yes. Weighbridge slips, gate passes, invoices and records of where each waste stream went, including hazardous streams routed to authorised handlers.
